Wordplay: Sometimes the wordplay can go over your head but it hits you so well when you get it. I love when a poet fills the crowd with oohs and ahhs after a deep line. Sometimes you will hear a simple piece about someones day and suddenly the piece starts to twist and turn. Then you realize the deeper meaning behind it. And it just gets me excited thinking about it. I haven’t mastered that quite yet but I aspire to.

Passion: Something music lacks some days is that raw passion you use to feel. With poetry, the passion is always there. Makes me, engage in the piece even more. Even when I can’t relate it makes me want to just by their stage presence. The tone in their voice and the expressions displayed on their face. Just grace the performance as a whole.
